Emergency Preparedness

Mabel Paine staff and community are committed to providing and maintaining a safe, orderly, and attractive environment which promotes productivity and stimulates learning. Our school wide safety plan, which is updated every year in October and March, fosters respect for all individuals and effectively utilizes available district and community resources.

We would like to make you aware of the plans we have made at the school in the event of a serious earthquake or disaster. Please read and save this information for future reference.

Each school year the staff reviews our school plans for earthquake/disaster preparedness. The staff is divided into assigned teams and has specific responsibilities to insure safety for all students in the event of an earthquake or disaster.

Regularly the entire school participates in fire drill, duck, cover and evacuation drills, as well as lock-down drills. The children have been informed about where to go and what to do in the event of an emergency at school, whether they are in their classroom or elsewhere on the campus.
